Ciudad Santa Fe, by E-Bike

Santa Fe is known for its beautiful climate and glistens in the sun on average for 325 days annually. Located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Santa Fe is the highest Capital City in the US, sitting at an elevation of 7,199 feet above sea level.

BIKE + CULTURE

That may be eye opening to travelers visiting from lower elevations, but we have created a way for our guests to climb into the foothills of the mountains here and embark on a half day E-Bike ride through Santa Fe. This E-Bike adventure takes the mystery of whether you “can or cannot” out of your travel experience. You can!

Powered by a motor and battery, your pedal-assisted E-Bike ride will help you ease your way through the pygmy forests of Santa Fe and guide you down the narrow, charming hillside roads and pathways of the city. We will visit Paseo de la Loma Hill to an overlook of the city, where a monument commemorates the martyrs who died during the Pueblo Revolt of 1680. This revolt was a successful retaliation and reclaiming of indigenous land by the Puebloan people against the colonists who first entered what is now New Mexico in 1540.

We will climb a little higher to catch a more energetic road that will lead us downward into a neighborhood that sits just above the Santa River and is a great example of authenticity and historic preservation. Peppered with old Plazuela or Hacienda style compounds and family chapels and rock homesteads this part of our bike ride is sure to charm and inspire you. We will visit the first Sawmill in Santa Fe which provided the lumber for Fort Marcy, our first stop on this tour. This property has had a documented evolution for 289 years and now is the site of the Randall Davey Audubon Center and Sanctuary.

Leaving Santa Fe’s historical past, we will journey to newly redeveloped districts like The Railyard where a pedestrian promenade will guide us to the Acequia Trail that will weave its way peacefully behind the busy corridor. This trail will lead us along one of the water ditches to a sculpture garden that is sure to bring you joy and bring out the kid inside all of us.

After resting and rejuvenating at the sculpture garden we will return to the Inn and Spa at Loretto on a breezy and scenic path that follows the Santa Fe River back into the heart of the city.
