Red Door Villa is the latest design achievement by Ira & Sylvia Seret.
Behind a towering wisteria—set apart from the street by an ancient adobe wall with brick coping and a red wooden gate—lies one of Santa Fe’s most storied addresses. Known to locals and history aficionados as the “Roque Tudesqui House” and marked by the Historic Society plaque, this villa sits at the intersection of design, history, and culture. Across some 2,000 square feet of pure elegance, it unfolds in the iconic Seret & Sons aesthetic: rare antiques, custom textiles, and hand-laid mosaics gathered from around the world.
The primary bedroom, anchored with an ornate king bed and cozy sitting area, offers a light filled sanctuary for deep rest and relaxation. The second bedroom with a lush king bed and window seating overlooks a secluded courtyard with cozy fire-pit. Between them, a separate living room invites you to linger with its inviting custom sectional beckoning you to enjoy slow mornings, long conversations, and evenings that stretch comfortably into the night. The dining room gathers eight to ten guests around a single table, a room made for shared meals and the company that lingers over them, while a kitchenette with its own powder room keeps everyday ease close at hand. The full bath is its own retreat, appointed with a deep soaking tub and a walk-in shower offering a quiet space for unhurried rituals at the beginning or end of any day.
Beyond the walls, the outdoors becomes part of the living space: two private landscaped courtyards frame the villa in lush seclusion, and a back deck that opens onto a shared, tranquil garden where the slower pace of the high desert settles over everything.
